FABRIC INFO

Bamboo is a great sustainable resource. It grows about 1 foot a day without the use of pesticides and chemicals. Bamboo fabric is naturally antimicrobial, hypoallergenic and
thermal regulating. It is also resistant to mould. Bamboo breathes and wicks moisture away due to its porous nature. Bamboo also has an excellent drape and a silky cashmere feel.

Ramie is a highly sustainable ecofriendly fiber. It is very strong and durable; 8 times stronger than cotton and even stronger when wet. Ramie is a flowering plant, and once the flowers begin to bloom, that is when the fibers are extracted from the plant for spinning, it can be harvested up to 6 times in a successful year! Ramie is naturally resistant to bacteria, mould and mildew as well as light damage, rot or insect attack. It does not require pesticides or herbicides to grow healthily.

Tencel is a new all natural fiber. It is made with wood pulp cellulose from the eucalyptus tree, it uses a nontoxic solvent during its production process and close to 100% of the solvent is recovered, and what is not, is broken down in water treatment plants. Tencel uses much less water than the production of nonorganic cotton, which uses 100 times more water to produce. Tencel is extremely absorbent, irritation free (very smooth on skin), naturally prevents the growth of bacteria, and is 100% biodegradable, coming from forests that practice sustainability.

GARMENT CARE

Bamboo jersey: Hand wash or wash on delicate in front load washing machine in cold water. Do not wash in top load machine as it will stretch the fabric. Lay flat to dry. Do not hang to dry. Wrinkles from packing or folding will fall out of the clothing while wearing, due to the body’s natural heat. To remove them more quickly, lightly steam the garment (on the wrong side) with the steam function of your iron, without touching the fabric directly.

Rayon jersey: Hand wash or wash on delicate in front load washing machine in cold water. Lay flat to dry. To remove wrinkles, follow same instructions as bamboo jersey.

Polyester jersey: Machine wash and lay flat to dry in cold water. I suggest washing this fabric before wearing as the dye tends to rub off on clothing initially. This fabric does not wrinkle.

Ramie & tencel: Machine wash on delicate in cold water and lay flat to dry or hang.
